Remembering Jen Stec - Memorial Bench Installed

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, the Wyoming Valley Striders running club donated and installed a memorial bench in honor of area runner Jen Stec. The memorial bench was installed next to the Susquehanna Warrior Trail, facing south, in the area of the Union Township Boat Launch.
Board members of the WVS, the Susquehanna Warrior Trail Council, and friends assisted in the installation of the memorial bench. The legs of the bench were inserted into 36” holes that were filled with concrete and then leveled.
Those on hand for the event were WVS President Don Gross, Vice President Karen Mclaughlin, Treasurer Vince Wojnar, Secretary Linda Wojnar, and board members Tony Pszeniczny and Tom Walski; SWTC President Lance Kittleson, Vice President Max Furek; friends Tony Korch, John Moskel, and Brian Barchik. A special thank you goes out to Tom Walski who spearheaded the logistics of the bench development. An official dedication ceremony will be held at a later date.
Jen represented the passion that is the sport of running. May all who run on this trail and pass by this bench or those needing a respite, feel just a little peace~piece of all that was Jen.
