No entry fee and no cutoff times.The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday at noon, following the completion of the 100-mile race. Registration is limited to 20 runners. The race will be run on a somewhat challenging 12.5-mile section of the D&H Rail Trail in Northeast Pennsylvania. Beginning beneath the Starrucca Viaduct, runners will run southward up the gradual slope of the rail trail, descend into and back out of the Bucks Falls gorge, and then turn around in Thompson and run back northward to the viaduct.

Check-in 9:30 a.m., race 11-1 p.m. rain/shine. A 1.5 Mile novelty race throught the alleys, streets and barrooms of the Mountain City, Hazleton, Pa. Competitors must run, walk or crawl into each of the five designated bars along the race course, purchase a lite draft or soda and try to continue to the finish line. Due to liquor laws, all competitors must be 21, must wear shirts and carry five(5) quarters for purchase of the refreshments. This is all done to raise funds to support infant stimulation programs in the Hazleton Area. In memory of Rocco Colangelo.

Beginning Flag Day, June 14, 2008, a dedicated team of runners will run across America from Fort Irwin, CA to Arlington National Cemetery, one mile for every Soldier, Sailor, Airmen, and Marine killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom. For ten weeks, team members will mark each mile with an American flag and signcard in an apolitical reflection of remembrance of each service member. This is race is an area cordination to join in.

The course is a 5k cross country course with no steep hills, co fast times are anticipated. The start/finish area will be the Canton High School track. Runners will proceed out of the stadium and run a double loop of the school district grounds on a variety of surfaces (pavement, dirt road, grass ), then return to the stadium for the finish. Most of the course will be in view of the spectators. Spikes are not necessary for this course. If using spikes, no spikes longer than 3/16“ please. T-shirts for the first 50 runners registered. This Camp is opened to High School Runners from July 26th-31st. And College Runners from August 17th - 22nd.
The Road Less Traveled Distance Running Camp provides junior high, high school, and collegiate runners an opportunity to prepare for their upcoming cross country season through training on some of the most scenic and challenging trails in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Instruction is provided by a knowledgeable staff of former high school and collegiate runners, many of whom currently coach teams in the area. Guest speakers include coaches and running experts who have contributed to the sport over the years. The camp also fosters an environment for team bonding away from the distractions of every day life and interaction with runners from other teams in the area and the state.
The week provides 5 days of training, 15 meals cooked by the camp staff, and recreation facilities for free activity times throughout the day.
Daily Schedule will include a morning hill run followed by breakfast, an afternoon strengthtraining/ running technique session followed by lunch, and an evening long run (distances vary by ability) followed by dinner. Campers will be treated to guest speakers, movies, and camp fires at night.
The Camp fee is $250 for high school and $175 for college. Fee’s pay for facility rental, camp staff, camp instructors, insurance, travel fees for speakers, and t-shirts for each camper.

A contestant bench presses (pumps) his/her body weight or percent thereof according to the age-group chart below, a time equal to the number of reps (0, 1, 2, …) multiplied by 15 seconds being subtracted from the subsequent 5k running time. The contest pits the elite runner against the elite weight lifter. Other leading contestants in the above-noted age groups will also receive awards: ten in the first age group and five in each of the other groups. The overall top male and female runners also receive awards: If students, $200 cash. If not students, a one-year membership in the campus’ fitness facility. Run, 10:00 beginning at the tennis courts, proceeding on a measured back-road course (in part that of the Winter’s End Road Race).
