It is held in conjunction with the annual Kiwanis Wyoming County Fair. The fairgrounds are located just off Route 6W, 2 miles north of Meshoppen, or 11 miles northwest of Tunkhannock. Fun for the entire family!!!!!!!

BENEFITS: Proceeds from this race will go to support Wendy's Wonderful Kids at the Children's Service Center of Wyoming Valley.
INFO: The Wendy's Wonderful Kid's Half Marathon and 10k is in downtown Wilkes Barre. The course is a flat, fast and shaded two loop circuit through historic and residential communities, Wilkes University, and Kings College. There will be live music on course and the race is part of the Wilkes Barre Health and Fitness Festival occuring all day Friday and Saturday.
Attention Family and Friends: During and after the race, family and friends can enjoy the River Commons Park, watch live kayak racing on the river, have breakfast in downtown Wilkes Barre, participate in children’s activities near the start/finish line, or check out the health food vendors and fitness expo at Public Square. Racers will pass within a block of the start/finish line three times during the half marathon and twice during the 10K. Stay the afternoon and watch the State Championship Criterium Cycling Race through the heart of downtown Wilkes Barre.

INFO: Start and Finish at the YMCA, gentle climb, early on with fast 1.5 mile to finish. Water on course. For runner’s safety, NO strollers, pets, bikes, roller blades permitted. Course is open to controlled traffic. Note: Any walker found running will be disqualified!
Age Groups and Awards: Overall male and female runners receive a $100.00 bond and plaques. Medals will be awarded to the MALE and FEMALE runners in the following age groups: 15 and under (3), 16-19 (3), 20-24 (3), 25-29 (3), 30-34 (3), 35-39 (3), 40-44 (3), 45-49 (3), 50-54 (3), 55-59 (3), 60- 64 (3), 65-69 (2), 70 and over (1). Also, the first five male and female walkers receive a medal. All participants in the Kids Run will receive an award and a fun prize of their own. All entrants will receive free use of YMCA facilities for the day and post race refreshments, snacks and random drawings and raffles.
Race Background: Kick-off event for Hazleton Funfest Weekend. So after the event, stay in Downtown Hazleton for the food, music, sights and sounds that Funfest offers! All proceeds of the run will go to the benefit the Hazleton YMCA & YWCA Youth Scholarship Program. This program’s goal is to help underprivileged children in our area participate in Y activities where we build strong Spirit, Mind and Body.

BENEFITS: The D&H Distance Run benefits the resurfacing of the next ten miles of trail from Herrick Center to Thompson.
INFO: The 13.1 mile race will be an ‘out and back’ run on the D&H Rail-Trail from Forest City to Union Dale. The trail is approximately 15 feet wide and recently resurfaced with fine crushed stone, for a superb running surface. The course is basically flat with a slight upgrade going northward and a slight downgrade for the return and finish. Water stations will be approximately every 2 miles. Post race food will be available. The race is a great tune-up for those training for the Steamtown Marathon and a great race for those attempting longer distance runs.
$40 postmarked by August 20th, $55 thereafter (T-shirt/size not guaranteed). Field limited to 325.
